There are few objects in a wardrobe as simple, and as open to interpretation, as a silk scarf. A square of fabric has no fixed silhouette; the way it is folded, knotted or draped changes its entire expression. The 90 x 90 cm format sits at the centre of this versatility. Large enough to create volume, small enough to remain effortless, it allows silk to move freely between accessory and garment.
Maison Kargani Signature scarves are made in Como from 100% silk twill, chosen for the way it holds a fold while retaining movement and softness. Each is finished by hand with a French rolled hem, with the roll facing the front of the scarf.
Begin with the Fold
Most ways of wearing a scarf begin with the same movement. Lay the square flat and fold it diagonally into a triangle. From there, it can remain open or be folded progressively towards the centre until it forms a narrow band. A wider fold feels softer and more relaxed. A narrow fold becomes more graphic and precise.
Around the Neck
Fold the scarf into a band, place it around the neck and knot it slightly off-centre. Let the ends fall freely over an open shirt, beneath a jacket or close to the neck. Small changes in placement alter the entire expression.
As an Ascot
Place the band around the neck, cross one end over the other, bring it through the opening and allow it to fall naturally at the front. Worn beneath an open collar, the silk becomes part of the shirt rather than an accessory placed over it.
As a Triangle
Fold the scarf once, diagonally, and place the point towards the front. Tie the ends behind the neck, or bring them forward again for a softer interpretation. The print becomes more visible and the scarf takes on greater presence.
In the Hair
Folded into a narrow band, the scarf can become a headband, wrap around a ponytail or be tied around the head. With a printed scarf, placement becomes part of the styling: a border can frame the face, a corner can reveal the Maison Kargani monogram, or a fragment of the artwork can become the only visible part of the composition.
On a Bag or Over the Shoulders
Wrapped around a handle or tied at its base, the scarf becomes a small gesture of colour and movement. Unfolded and draped over the shoulders, it becomes a light layer and reveals more of the artwork.

Care
Maison Kargani recommends professional dry cleaning only. Between wears, store the scarf flat or loosely folded, away from direct sunlight. If pressing is necessary, use a low silk setting from the reverse side and never press the French hand-rolled edge flat. The scarf does not dictate how the story should be worn. That part belongs to the person who wears it.
