A linen shirt brings ease to warm-weather dressing. The cloth breathes, moves with the body and carries its creases naturally. Its apparent simplicity rests on precise choices: fabric weight, finish, cut and detail. Together, they give a relaxed piece its sense of proportion.
Why Linen
Linen comes from the fibres of the flax plant and is among the world’s oldest textiles. Long fibres lend the cloth strength, while small variations in the yarn create its distinctive texture. Linen absorbs and releases moisture and allows air to circulate, qualities that make it well suited to warm days.
Weight Changes Everything
Measured in grams per square metre, fabric weight influences both the feel and the drape of a linen shirt. Heavier cloth lends structure, approaching the character of an overshirt; very light cloth can be almost sheer. Maison Kargani uses 147 g/m² linen, a lightweight, breathable fabric with an extra-soft finish. The finish softens the touch while retaining the texture and lightness of the cloth.
Two Cuts
The Tailored Linen Shirt follows the body with defined shoulders and measured proportions. Its line is clean and composed, softened by the natural ease of linen. Tucked into trousers or worn beneath a jacket, it brings the precision of shirting to warm-weather dressing.
The Oversized Linen Shirt allows more space around the body. Relaxed shoulders, extended sleeves and a considered length let the fabric move freely, while bellows pockets add discreet volume. Worn open over a tank top or untucked over trousers, it retains a clear silhouette within its generous proportions.
White or Light Blue
A white linen shirt is a wardrobe classic: bright and easy to style, it pairs with light trousers or a dark suit for the evening. The Tailored Linen Shirt comes in white.
Light blue is softer. It recalls sky and water, sits well with white, beige and navy, and gives a relaxed silhouette a touch of colour without disturbing its balance. The Oversized Linen Shirt comes in light blue.
The Details
Both shirts have a classic Italian collar, closed with a signature gold-tone metal press-stud engraved with the MK monogram. A concealed placket keeps the front clean. The buttons are cut from Australian mother-of-pearl and engraved with the Maison Kargani logo; their natural iridescence varies from one button to the next. Tonal embroidery reading Tailor Maison Kargani adds a discreet signature.
Creases Belong to Linen
Creases are part of linen’s character. Soft and irregular, they give the cloth the ease of a piece that has been worn. Between wears, hang the shirt on a wide hanger with room around it; a little steam helps relax deeper creases. Maison Kargani linen shirts require professional dry cleaning only.
From S to XL
Both shirts are available in sizes S to XL and can be worn by men and women. The Tailored cut gives a more defined line; the Oversized cut offers a freer silhouette.
Made in Italy
The shirts are made in Italy from 100% linen, in controlled quantities. Light, breathable and carefully finished, they accompany warm days and the evenings that follow.
